Rockfall Protection netting and panels
The main function of protection netting and panels is used to prevent rocks and debris from falling. Protection can be passive or active.
- Passive – where the wire mesh is designed for controlling detached pieces of rocks and for their regulation to protect people and buildings under the slope.
- Active – where different kinds of steel wire and steel cables form an armoured mesh which is then anchored to the rock slope to prevent loosening and falling of rocks.

APPLICATION AREAS:
- Covering of rock walls – passive systems (Double twisted wire mesh, SteelGrid MO)
- Stabilization of the rock wall and blocks - active systems (SteelGrid BO, HEA panels)
THE HEXAGONAL DOUBLE TWISTED WIRE MESH
A double twisted wire mesh with a mesh type 6x8 or 8x10. Wire diameter 2,2; 2,7 or 3,0 mm in three possible coatings - heavy zinc coating, galfan or galfan + Plastic coating.

A double twisted wire mesh with a mesh type 8x10 and wire diameter 3,0 mm with integrated steel ropes Ø 8mm which are woven into the mesh lengthwise and always in the same distance of 1,5m.

HEA PANELS
A high-strength rope mesh made from one rope with diameters of 8; 10 or 12 mm. The panel is made from square meshes with sizes of 250x250, 300x300 or 400x400 mm by means of special double binded joints. In case of need, panels can be delivered also with the external perimerical ropes of diameters 10; 12 or 14 mm. Knots which are crossed by mesh ropes are connected with a patented HEA connection (HEA = High Energy Absobrtion) which can withstand a bigger stress in comparison with standard connections and its breaking is not sudden but ductile what provides an redistribution of mesh tensile forces. There are two possible types of HEA connections.
- single knot – ropes binding by one pair of steel wire
- double knot – ropes binding by two pairs of steel wire
- single knot – ropes binding by one pair of steel wire
- double knot – ropes binding by two pairs of steel wire
